About the EAQE
The EAQE (Estate Agents Qualifying Examination) is run by the Estate Agents Authority (EAA) and is the qualification required to work as an estate agent in Hong Kong. It has two parts — Part I (multiple-choice) and Part II (case study) — which must be sat and passed in the same session, each at a 60% pass mark.

Estate Agent vs Salesperson

Study Resources
In-depth preparation material, organised by topic, to use alongside the practice questions.
The public’s expectations of the estate agency profession encompass four dimensions: professional knowledge, accurate information, diligent execution of the client’s mandate, and refraining from undue influence.
The EAQE is divided into the Estate Agent licence (E Paper) and the Salesperson licence (S Paper); the E Paper covers all 8 Parts while the S Paper covers a narrower syllabus.
An Estate Agent licensee may operate an estate agency business independently and must master the law, valuation and practice knowledge across all 8 Parts.
A Salesperson must pass the SQE (S Paper), focusing on the Estate Agents Ordinance, practice and conduct, land law and tenancy matters under the supervision of a licensed agent.
Part 2 (Estate Agents Ordinance and practice) is the exam core; together with Part 3 it accounts for over 40% of the question weighting.
The examination is held by the EAA throughout the year in a multiple-choice format, with a 60% pass mark; retakes are unlimited.
