PrepLicense: SG CMFAS

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the PrepLicense: SG CMFAS mobile application ("the App") developed by Sai Chun Christopher Tang ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Description of Service

The App is an independent study tool designed to help users prepare for the six insurance modules of the Singapore Capital Markets and Financial Advisory Services (CMFAS) examinations administered by the Singapore College of Insurance: RES5, CM-LIP, HI, BCP, PGI and ComGI. The App provides original practice questions, mock exams, analytics, and study aids.

2. Scope

The App covers the six CMFAS insurance papers only. It does not cover the collective investment scheme, securities, futures or private banking modules, nor the real estate salesperson examinations administered under the Council for Estate Agencies. Which papers you are required to sit is determined by MAS, the SCI and your principal, not by the App.

3. Not Official Exam Material

The App is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or associated with the Singapore College of Insurance or the Monetary Authority of Singapore. All questions are 100% original content, authored in our own words from the SCI study guides, the Financial Advisers Act 2001, the Insurance Act 1966 and the MAS Notices and Guidelines made under them. The App does NOT reproduce, mirror, or scrape any portion of the actual examination item banks, which are not public. We do not guarantee that using the App will result in passing any examination.

Nothing in the App is financial advice, legal advice, or a recommendation of any insurance product. The App explains what the rules and the syllabus require so that you can answer examination questions about them. For advice about a particular product, policy or transaction, consult a licensed representative or a qualified professional.

5. Currency of the Rules

The SCI revises its study guides, and MAS amends the Acts, Notices and Guidelines they rest on. Content is written against the editions current at the time of publication and updated as new editions are issued. Always verify against the current official study guide and MAS Notices before relying on any answer for professional purposes.

6. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases

The App offers auto-renewable subscriptions to unlock premium features. Every plan is available monthly, for three months, or yearly:

Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same price.

You can manage and cancel your subscriptions by going to your Account Settings on the App Store after purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

7. Free Tier

The App offers limited free access, including a subset of practice questions for each paper. Premium features require a subscription.

8. Intellectual Property

All content in the App, including questions, explanations, graphics, and design, is owned by us or licensed to us. Short excerpts of Singapore legislation and MAS Notices are quoted for identification and study purposes; those source materials are works of the Government of Singapore and the Monetary Authority of Singapore. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the App's content without our written permission.

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, or that the content is completely accurate or current with the latest edition of the SCI study guides or MAS Notices.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to examination results, licensing or appointment decisions, or any advice given or product arranged in reliance on the App's content.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The "Last Updated" date above indicates when the Terms were last modified.

13. Apple Standard EULA

In addition to these Terms, your use of the App is also governed by the Apple Standard End User License Agreement (EULA).

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

15. Privacy

Your use of the App is also subject to our Privacy Policy.
