About the Real Estate Agent Examination
The Real Estate Agent Examination (the Ordinary Examination for Real Estate Agents) is administered by Taiwan's Ministry of Examination, held once a year (registration typically in August, exam in November). It is pass/fail (an overall score of 60), with no admission quota, and is one of the statutory qualifications for the Real Estate Agent certificate under the Real Estate Broking Management Act. It comprises a Chinese composition paper and 4 professional subjects, each mixing essay and multiple-choice questions.

About the Real Estate Salesperson Qualification Test
The Real Estate Salesperson Qualification Test is one route to becoming a licensed salesperson: you take it after completing at least 30 hours of qualification training at a Ministry of the Interior (MOI) recognized institution. It is a single paper of 100 single-choice questions (no penalty for wrong answers), with a pass mark of 60; the qualification is valid for 4 years. Compared with the Broker examination it has a lower barrier and a much larger candidate pool — it is the first license for entering the real-estate brokerage industry.
